Back in the 80s when I first arrived in Cornwall, I was drawn to this glorious wave. In contrast with most Cornish waves which break over a sandy seabed, ‘Leven draws out of deep water and breaks over a rocky reef with significant power and beautiful form. here, I tried to recreate the excitement of jumping off the rocks by the lifeboat station and paddling out to the peak. I can still remember specific rides from over 30 years ago. I also paddled out on one enormous swell and felt very lucky to make it back to the safety of the Harbour in one piece. A very special place indeed.
